Review: May Birchbox

I recently received my first ever Birchbox last week and I
have to say I am very happy with the contents. Birchbox in case you didn’t know
is a beauty box, which is delivered to you for a price of £10 + £2.95 each
month. It’s very similar to Glossybox and a whole bunch of other similar
beauty boxes out there. You receive around six products (makeup, skincare and
others), some full size and some samples of various brands.

I used to get Glossybox beauty boxes but then I started to
tire of them as I found they mainly only did skincare stuff, which bored me so
I stopped. Then this year I decided I wanted to try it out again but I thought
I would try Birchbox (which used to be JolieBox in the UK) this time.

I am so happy I did, I love what I received in my May BirchBox.

Products shown are: Electric Hair Intensive Treatment Masque,
Kusmi Tea Detox Tea, Murad® Hydro-Dynamic® Ultimate Moisture for eyes, OPI Nail
Lacquer, WEI Pomegranate Buffing Beeds and Laura Geller inkwell Gel Liner all
packed in this cute pick pouch bag.

I haven’t used all the products (hair mask, gel liner and
buffing beads) but here is what I think of the rest so far.

1.  Kusmi Tea Detox
Tea
I was a bit unsure to
try this as it had lemon in it and I hate lemon in my drinks – seriously, I hate it when I get a diet coke in a restaurant and they stick a lemon slice
in it, uh no thanks. It’s not my favourite green tea drink (nothing can beat
plain green tea) but it’s okay, I can drink it. I am not too sure about Detox
but I have noticed I don’t feel so bloated when I drink this.

2. Murad® Hydro-Dynamic® Ultimate Moisture for eyes
I was so happy that finally, I could try a Murad cream and I love this! I only use it night as it is has Hyaluronic Acid in it but is lovely and
moisturising. You only need it use a tiny bit so this deluxe sample size will
last quite a long time. It actually suits my skin as well, I have very dry
skin and its very sensitive around my eye area so there are some eye creams
that I just can’t use. I might buy the full size once this sample runs out.

3. OPI Nail Lacquer
I don’t usually buy OPI nail polish since it’s so expensive
and I hardly wear it but I always had wanted to try it. Sadly, the colour is
wrong for my skin colour as it is way to light brown so it kind of looks like I
have no nails when I wear it. The polish quality however is very good. It goes
on smoothly and dries nicely. It dried quickly enough for my likening (hence,
why I hardly use nail polish). I might even stretch out and buy a full size in
another colour.

So overall, I am happy with Birchbox, I will definitely be
continuing my subscription to get another one.

I will be updating this blog post again once I have tried
the other items.

If you bought a BirchBox this month (or similar) what did you think of the products?
